Venue

Waterland Outdoor Centre, The Cotswold Water Park, Shorncote, Nr Cirencester - two miles from A419 (between Swindon and Cirencester). A clear, fresh water lake, set in a beautifully landscaped area which is used for swimming on a regular basis, as well as boating and windsurfing. There are changing, toilet and shower facilities, on-site catering and plenty of room for spectator viewing.

Cotswold Big Two Mile Swim

Open to anyone who can cover the distance (minimum age 18 as at 31/12/17). Please note wetsuits are strongly recommended.

Cotswold Big One Mile Swim

Open to anyone who can cover the distance (minimum age 16 as at 31/12/17). Anyone aged under 17 must be a regular club swimmer and their parents must sign a disclaimer/permission form on the morning of the event to confirm they can easily cover the distance. Please note wetsuits are strongly recommended.

Course

The swim will take place in a clear gravel bottom lake over a multi- lap course which will be GPS measured, clearly marked and have a full safety crew. Wetsuits are strongly recommended for these events.

Results/Prizes/September Big Swim Team Trophy

All results will be available as you finish and posted on this website Saturday evening after the event. Awards to top three male and female, first 40+, 50+, 60+. Also SEPTEMBER ONE MILE GLENYS FRANCE MEMORIAL TEAM TROPHY! A true ambassador to swimming Glenys had played a huge part in helping to promote the sport from local to County to National to European and World Championship events. To help keep her memory strong and help drive swimming forwards a Team Trophy will be presented annually at The BIG COTSWOLD Swim 2 held in September each year. The 'GLENYS FRANCE MEMORIAL TEAM TROPHY' will be presented to the winning team in the ONE MILE event. The Trophy has been Sponsored by John Tanner of Cats Solutions and will be for the first five (male or female) from a team to cross the finish in the one mile event - cumulative positions will count, lowest score wins - 2016 trophy was won by Swimpodium.

Accommodation

This year camping will be 300m from swim start at Go-By-Cycle,GL7 6DS This is a registered campsite with toilet and shower facilities within the site and some electrical hook-ups. Book at: http://www.go-by-cycle.co.uk/camping.htm. From Spine Road, turn right into Spratsgate Lane and take first turning on left camping, first gate on left Sorry No Dogs Allowed.
