Cirencester Off Road Duathlon

Change of Venue - Charlton Park

Due to the sad death of Earl Bathurst, we have been informed that Cirencester Park Estate has entered a period of probate and no events will be allowed in the park until further notice, so we have another venue for the 12th February event; Charlton Park.

Charlton Park is located on the edge of the Cotswolds, near Malmesbury in Wiltshire, with the entrance situated on the A429 Cirencester/Malmesbury Road, SN16 9DG within easy reach of and between Jct 17, M4 and Cirencester. This PRIVATE Estate is the home of The Earl and Countess of Suffolk and Berkshire and extends to 4500 acres which is made up of grassland, woods and gardens. 

The off road course will be very similar to the Cirencester course with a mix of wooded trails, grass and tracks, with a flattish run and undulating bike course over the same distances and same number of laps as previous events and with beautiful views, free parking, chip timing, secure transition, toilets and food vendor.

Please note this park is not open to the public at any other time.

Full details will be posted out two weeks prior to the event and further details will be available soon.

There are still a few places left; on-line entries will be taken until midnight on Thursday 10, sorry NO entries on Race Day.

With less than three weeks to go before the next Cirencester Off Road Duathlon on 13th November 2011, there are just 90 places left in total over the long event, relay and Novice. So don't leave it too late to enter.

Full details and numbers with be posted out to competitors 12 days prior to the event.

SPECIALIZED COMPETITION

Specialized supported the Cotswold Super Sprint and Women Only Events this year and gave away 10 S-Works Helmets, worth £129 each, in a free prize draw for competitors and volunteers. We heard from Specialized that many more women than men entered the competition and as a results all 10 prize winners drawn were women. 4 September 2011, this very popular Sprint Distance and Novice triathlon is once again part of The Tri England South West Series and is one of the first triathlons in the country to be awarded a British Triathlon Quality Mark.
